flora&faunavisions was proud to share a new, inspiring version of the multimedia installation INSIDEOUT at Dubai Art Week. This one-off multimedia experience “INSIDEOUT | La Casa Azul” was shown at the wonderful location of INKED in Dubai and took the visitor on a unique culinary journey through the dramatic life of the most significant artists and empowering women of the 20th century – Frida Kahlo. flora&faunavisions created five scenarios for “La Casa Azul” – a pop-up dinner series. A five-course menu – each menu accompanied by a thrilling projection on INSIDEOUT triggered the visitor’s emotions and senses.

The original inspiration of INSIDEOUT describes the house as our sanctuary, a safe haven to hide from nature’s forces. The installation invites you to experience the rain drumming hard on the roof, watching through the window seeing dark clouds stacking up in the night sky. As the protecting walls disappear into the moonlight and the thunderstorm reaches its climax we feel naked – but purified by the light.
The sound design was created by the award-winning composer, musician and producer Andi Toma, who is one of the founding members of the breakthrough electronic music collaboration Mouse on Mars.

During Dubai Art Week 2018 from March 19th to 24th, the multimedia installation INSIDEOUT was opened to the public for viewing. The event “La Casa Azul”, which was accompanied by the immersive dinner experience by INKED, took place several times during Dubai Art Week. The events were announced before, during and after Dubai Art Week on several channels and has been received with open arms throughout the international press.
