ABOUT
Cyrano de Bergerac is a soldier and a poet who is in love with Roxane, but he is too ashamed to admit it because of his big nose.
When a fellow cadet, Christian, falls for Roxane, Cyrano writes love letters signed with Christians name, but Roxane doesn’t realise that it’s Cyrano's words she falls for.
This Legend inspired the creation of 3 Armagnacs. The first, Roxane, is a clear, fresh Armagnac, perfect for mixologists.
The others are blends, 25 and 50 year olds. They are complex, with depth of character, much like the man himself.
The design features Cyrano's sword within the Logo which is written in a blackletter style, still popular in 17th Century France. Supporting descriptive font Garamond also takes its influence from 17th Century French typographer Jean Jannon. Other details include an illustration of the Sun, representing the 'Sun King' Louis VIV who was the French monarch at the time of Cyrano de Bergerac.
Around the edge of the 25 and 50 year old labels, punctuated by gold quill pens runs one of Cyrano's famous quotes.
'I am going to be a storm, a flame, I need to fight whole armies alone; I have ten hearts; I have a hundred arms; I feel too strong to war with mortals. Bring me giants!'
The oldest spirit of France.
