ABOUT

Bose first released their QuietComfort Headphones about twenty years ago. In that time, over-the-ear headphones have transformed into earbuds that are comfortable, durable and sleek. Bose has remained obsessed with the small details that make a big difference – so, they came to like-minded Taylor James for the release of their newest Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.

The team at Bose knew they wanted to make compelling claims about the earbuds’ features. With that, we knew our niche for CGI fly-through, blown-to-pieces, deconstruction animations would provide the wow they’re looking for. We put together a treatment with storyboards and pre-visualization to show the client how we would create a weightless and premium feel to the product.

For the “Animated Supers” piece, we take an energetic tour through 3D space around the earbuds – each viewpoint projecting personality into the frame. The clean, geometric elements of the motion graphics will provide an elegant counterpoint to the solid, sculptural shapes of the product. The earbuds will be rendered in a sleek photo-real style – a futuristic showroom.

There will be the perfect balance of clean product lighting in a simple environment, with just enough information to help show perspective and distance. Lighting will be ambiguous of it’s direction but always lands at the perfect place on any surface and material. Every object will feel realistic enough you want to touch it, shadow and highlights will feel soft, so that we show off the detail and curvature of Bose QuietComfort Earbuds.

When the earbuds fly to pieces, the real magic begins. We created animation that is coordinated, kinetic and mesmerizing. The earbuds would float and fly around the text, detailing the earbuds’ great new features.
