About me
Hello. I'm James, a creative director at VML Melbourne. I come from a background in copywriting, and have had work featured in award shows around the world. In my first two years as creative director, VML Melbourne was named the #3 hottest creative agency in Australia, the agency won the coveted Defence Force account, and we had eight campaigns recognised internationally.
My campaign for Alcohol Think Again was recently named the most powerful alcohol education ad in the world, and I'm a regular guest lecturer at RMIT University, which runs Melbourne's premier advertising course.
But it's not all about ads. I also plays drums and trombone in a doom-metal band. We began with the lofty goal of trying to irritate as as many people as possible, but it didn't work. Turns out the West Australian Music Industry thought we deserved to win the Best Metal Band Award. Twice. My current music project is a solo exploration of dark electronic works. I call it 'synth doom'.
