About me
I am a filmmaker working in an International OTT platform as a Script Doctor, leading the original content team. My role is to ensure the quality of stories and scripts produced by commissioned studios meet high-quality standards by providing them with detailed consultation at every story development phase until the final draft script completes. I also oversee the production and post-production process to ensure that the story produced meets its optimum quality.
I draw most of my experiences working as first assistant director and acting coach in many Malaysian Independent and feature-length commercial films and episodic drama productions. I have also lectured in several private universities in Malaysia, where I taught screenwriting and film production modules.
In 2015 I was offered a full scholarship by MDEC to study MA in Directing film and TV at Bournemouth University in the UK. While there, I completed several film projects that have won awards and circulated at International film festivals. I also landed a documentary project commissioned by Sammy Miller's Motorcycle Museum, for which I directed and co-produced alongside Smudgerhunt film, a production company based in Dorset, UK.
In addition, as part of the precursor research for my Ph.D. I examine female representations and generational traumas in film and media. Due to my undying passion for the acting craft, I also run an acting academy for young talents providing personal coaching and vocational acting training for upcoming and seasoned actors.
I am very dedicated to my work and highly driven. It has been my long-lasting desire and vision to improve the quality of stories we produce here in Malaysia and to set our mark in the international arena. I am also a mother of two, a boy and a girl, and I do Muay-Thai as a stress reliever.
