Sakila Banyen is the Head of Strategy at VML Thailand and a cultural anthropologist in the world of brands. With over 15 years of award-winning experience across local, regional, and global markets, she brings a rare ability to translate human truths into powerful, commercially effective ideas.
Her career spans some of the world's most influential agencies, including a pivotal role as Director of Strategy at Wunderman Thompson New York, where she shaped global thinking for iconic brands. Prior to that, she led strategic planning roles at Wunderman Thompson Thailand and BBDO Bangkok, building a reputation for culturally sharp, insight-led work that travels.
Sakila has partnered with leading brands across beauty, automotive, finance, technology, FMCG, and entertainment from Netflix to Samsung, Mazda, Eucerin, Vaseline and etc. Her work has been recognised at Cannes Lions, Clio, Effies APAC, and more.
Today, she leads VML Thailand's strategic vision with a focus on creativity that is deeply human, culturally relevant, and built for impact. She is driven by a belief that the strongest brands don't just communicate they participate meaningfully in culture.
