About me
I am a CREATIVE PRODUCER, DIRECTOR and EDITOR with an exceptional understanding of what makes a story 'work'. A culturally aware, intuitive connector with excellent research skills, I draw on my knowledge of industry trends to develop critically engaged, future facing content.
I have used stellar communication, storytelling and directing skills to consult with and interview participants for Crafts Council's 'Experience Economy Guide'; worked sensitively with clients, crew and subjects in the UK, Europe and Canada in the creation of a consistent visual and storytelling style a series of short form documentaries about terminal illness; and used audience research to develop characters and direct young people for 'Right To Choose', the UK Border Force's campaign to put an end to forced marriage.
Combining outstanding technical and conceptual capabilities with an in-depth understanding of characters and narrative structure, I interviewed Walthamstow residents in the creation of 'Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance'. Winner of the Scene Moving Image Commission, this project used short social documentaries to inspire the characters and plot lines for a short film project that reflected the borough's quirky William Morris Style aesthetic.
As artist/ filmmaker I lead on projection works with community engagement at their core. I have worked with migrants, refugees and First Nations dancers in the creation of 'Moving Over the Shoreline': a four channel projection work for the Queensland Multicultural Centre; with musicians and music fans to create 'Sounds from the Emergent State,' a six channel documentary that told the story of how punk rock influenced cultural change; and been commissioned to create 'Machine Leaning,' images made with #Facet an image aware content editing software powered by AI.
I welcome new opportunities that allow me to use my creative, directing and editing skills to develop high impact stories that create meaningful change. Passionate about digital accessibility, I am also interested in developing new creative approaches for developing inclusive digital content.
