About me
Ari Glass is a painter and designer born and raised in Seattle, currently living and working in New York. Glass' paintings reveal personal narratives that are inspired by historical and fictional concepts of kings, queens, and kingdoms, and deal with concepts such as sovereignty and independence. His intention is to showcase the deep, personal and positive effect that art and art history had on him while growing up in the Rainier Valley district of Seattle.
In 2015 Glass received the GAP funding to help with the production of his debut solo exhibition named 'The Sun is Made of Gold.' It was an immersive gallery environment involving painting, video projection, vitrine installation and custom framing that places the viewer in 'a new world.' The exhibition took place in early 2016 at the 2312 Gallery.
In 2017, Glass presented his skills in the role of an instructor, guiding novice painters improve their skill levels in art crafting. He took a part of the Paint & Smoothies event, which set its goal of bringing creativity to parks, encouraging people to embrace their unique identity and actualize their power for creating positive change.
Some of the original work of Ari Glass has been permanently installed in the Pacific Tower in Seattle. It was created specifically to celebrate community and the wonderfully diverse cultures that reside around the Tower.
