About me

My name is Simon Epstein, and I am a London-based freelance Sound Designer and Sound Editor.

My work in a freelance capacity has largely comprised Mixing and Sound Designing for a wide array of Animation/Motion Design and Live Action material, within both the Advertising, and the Corporate spheres. Clients have included BMW, Sure Men, Adidas, Cadillac, o2, Lloyds TSB, Channel 4, and many more. This type of work typically requires that I undertake all aspects of Audio Post, from Sound Design, to Dialogue Editing, Voice Over Editing, Music Editing, Audio Restoration (Izotope RX), and Final Mixing (usually to EBU R128, plus International Versions.) I pride myself on my high level of diligence and attention to detail, bringing small details alive to further immerse the viewer and fulfil the client's vision.

My Sound Design career began at Molinare, where I provided the Foley Recording, Mixing, Editing, and Supervision for Moon, Misfits, Silent Witness, New Tricks, The Hour, and Poirot amongst many more great projects. I additionally mixed, and edited dialogue for many short films, and tracklayed a number of factual TV shows, including Masterchef and How Do They Do It

I am highly passionate about all things audio, not least the way in which an intelligent tracklay and mix can transform visual material into a truly emotive experience for the audience. I feel the importance of creativity, pragmatism, and personal involvement in this process cannot be overstated. I believe my long-standing experience within multiple facets of Audio Post Production equip me with the necessary skills and expertise to achieve this. I do hope you'll feel the same.
